Are we all born leaders? Would you rather be a leader, or would you rather be a follower?
As I have grown older and wiser, I like to have control and be a leader. There have been many times in my life when I had no idea what I was doing, or I just felt uncomfortable, so I followed someone else’s example. I’m very grateful for those leaders I have followed and learned from. Now I’m in a position where I’m very confident in having an upper-level manager/owner status.
Sometimes I don’t think that I was born to be a leader. Rather, I become more confident and bettered myself in many social aspects that helped me become a leader. I am the 9th born of 12 children, so to be heard meant a lot to me growing up. I was also very independent and self-sufficient. I believe that was my advantage to helping me grow into the leader that I am today.
I noticed that over the years, I like to have control. I feel that in a leadership position and owning my own business, I would have more control than I could ever want. At the same time, I enjoy my current job where I don’t have to worry about management. I work and just go straight home. There are pros and cons to both sides of spectrum.
